Joel Mandelbaum

These photographs represent the output of my walking every street in the city of Kingston (an immensely enjoyable undertaking). I continued with the photographs after finishing my initial walk, as I had learned the great photographic potential of Kingston. I have also included some photographs from bicycling and hiking in Ulster County during the last year.

I started working with photography after spending many hours assisting my father in his closet-sized dark room in our house in Brooklyn. I have embraced many subjects including street photography in New York City, to most recently, detailing my impressions of Kingston and Ulster County. My work has been published by the Appalachian Trail Conference (most recently in the 2022 calendar) and in Adirondack Magazine. I have had multiple exhibits in Kingston, including two with the Arts Society of Kingston.
