Karen Whitman specializes in linoleum block prints, which she prints herself on both antique and modern presses. She has a BFA degree in Printmaking from SUNY at Buffalo and studied at The Art Students League in New York City. She has exhibited extensively throughout the United States and has won numerous regional and national awards, including seven Medals of Honor. Her prints are in the collections of the British Museum, The Institute of Fine Arts in Taipei, Taiwan, The Portland Art Museum in Oregon, The Museum of the City of New York, The New York Public Library, and The New York Historical Society, among others. The linocuts of Karen Whitman were featured in the December 2002 issue of American Artist Magazine and on the front cover of The Journal of The Print World in Oct. 2019. Also in 2019, Whitman was a recipient of the Clark Hulings Fund Fellowship.
