During Covid, I used the time to create a series of collages using only vertical strips cut from less successful monotypes created in the past. These served to express my interest in organic shapes in dialog with straight edges. And to improve on the compositions for a stronger, more dynamic effect. My use of color in all of my work is a joyful celebration of nature, and an homage to environmentally challenged regions of our beloved planet. Each piece is titled, signed and dated in pencil, on the front just below the artwork’s edge (not shown in image).
