Great Barrier Reef Study IV

My work is always inspired by nature, but a few years ago I began a series of abstract paintings and monotypes dedicated to honoring environmentally-challenged regions of the planet. As an artist focusing on nature it seemed essential to bear witness to its potential devastation. This piece is one of several in homage to the Great Barrier Reef, whose coral plants send up a distress signal by turning brilliant magenta, blue and yellow hues before they die.
