Striations

This is a very recent work, done in the printmaking studio at the Woodstock School of Art. I use a tool called a colour shaper, and let the ink skip along the surface of the acrylic panel, and wonderful textures are created. This is then put through a press and further surprises result. Natural forms, rock formations, cliff edges, are always in the back of my mind as I work.

• Monotype: a one-of-a-kind painting created on plexiglass then run through a press to make an impression onto archival printing paper
• Monotype collage created by slicing several other monotypes and combining them, then mounting them on BFK Rives archival paper
• Colors: acid yellow/green, light and darker mauve, dark brownish black, white
• Image size is 10″ x 10″ floating on 12.5″ x 12.5″ BFK Rives paper
• Will be mailed in an acid-free glassine sleeve with cardboard protection
