Terra Infirma/Ashokan Study II

My work is always inspired by nature, but a few years ago I began a series of abstract paintings and monotypes (Terra Infirma) dedicated to honoring environmentally-challenged regions of the planet. This piece is one of several in homage to the region I live in—West Shokan—a town that sacrificed many of its buildings, farms and orchards to create the Ashokan reservoir, which provides water for the New York Metropolitan area.

  • Monotype: one-of-a-kind painting created on plexiglass then run through a press to make an impression onto archival printing paper
  • Colors: Yellow, yellow-green, orange, blue, black and white
  • Image size is 16″ x 16″, on BFK Rives archival paper, matted in white
  • Professionally framed in black metal, 22″ x 25″
  • Wired and ready to hang
