My work is an abstract exploration of the colors found in nature, and the dialog between geometry and organic shapes. Monotypes give me an opportunity to play with these forms and colors and the white space provided by the paper, allowing the ink to flow as it wants to. In the case of the Tondo series, I created a sort of keyhole effect—to focus your eye on the delicious variety of textures—by placing a roundish frame on the plate to contain the image.
- Monotype: one-of-a-kind painting created on plexiglass then run through a press to make an impression onto archival printing paper
- Colors: blue, red, orange, green and white
- Image size is 10″ x 10″ on 14″ x 15″ BFK Rives archival paper
- Will be mailed in an acid-free glassine sleeve, protected by cardboard
